A Treasured Awareness
*Worship Wednesday* — Worship is something to be treasured, held with the awareness that it is not ours to keep. Worship is not about us. It is a mix of clear-headedness and inexpressible joy that we enter in, knowing that we are engaging in something divine. We are drawn to participate in something that is beyond our own efforts.
We don’t forsake gathering together, as is the habit of some (Hebrews 10: 25), but we run to the place of worship to meet with GOD Himself. The worship that GOD seeks is not out of our reach. We can get there with complete abandonment and trust, satisfying the deepest desires of our souls.
From time to time we should take stock of what is most central, important and vital in our common life together. Now is that time. Let’s discover the worship He is longing for.
“My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living GOD.” (Psalm 82: 2)
